NEEDS ANALYSIS
The goal for this microlearning was two-fold: to help the client streamline the homebuying process for her customers in a fun, tactful way and, in turn, eliminate some of her most common job-related headaches.

The client serves customers from a range of backgrounds in a metropolitan suburb in the Southeastern United States, many of them busy young professionals new to the homebuying process. The real estate market in recent years has been extremely competitive--we hoped to give her customers a leg-up with this quick, easily-accessible microlearning. Designed for mobile first, the client can text a link to new clients or add a QR code to her business card and other brand materials.

The client also acted as SME during this process and provided most of the copy for the bite-sized tips based on her professional experience. She was very pleased with the finished product and has requested another deliverable for home-sellers, as well.
VISUAL DESIGN
The over-arching theme for this microlearning was 'fun and engaging'. I wanted to develop a course that was informative and straightforward without feeling intimidating. The home-buying process can be incredibly overwhelming, so I lightened the content with approachable characters, eye-catching animations, and a bright color scheme.

I developed two different animated openings but ultimately decided on the simpler of the two. While I wanted the microlearning to be entertaining, the plane and banner felt borderline unprofessional or geared more toward a much younger audience.

The circular interactive menu was created using motion path animations, triggers, and layers in articulate. Each menu button leads to one of the five tips provided by the client-SME. The final 'Sold' button is set to disabled until the viewer has visited each of the five tip layers and leads to the client's contact information, including a direct mailto link.

Ensuring that the animations and transitions on each slide would reoccur after each visit to and from the tip layers was a fun exercise in problem-solving.
