FEATURES

APPROACH

The turnaround time for this project was relatively short, but the client provided several of their original PowerPoints with most of the relevant content and data. This particular presentation needed to be polished, impactful, and easily read by a large audience in an expansive conference hall space. As such, I chose a high-contrast color scheme with simple graphics.

The urgent and delicate nature of the subject matter was also considered during the development process. Rather than incorporate potentially-triggering photographs, I elected to use icons. Moving characters from an image repository were dotted strategically throughout the presentation to infuse moments of comic relief. I also used person-first, recovery-oriented language but kept copy to a minimum, so that the presentation would reinforce the keynote address rather than draw attention away from the speaker.

CUSTOM ANIMATIONS

The client requested a revamp of some rudimentary animations from their existing PowerPoints. The animations explain the effect of substance use on brain development and the function of dopamine. I was able to use the same PowerPoint interface to create the animations--using simple shapes and high-contrast colors again to maximize audience accessibility and complement the remainder of the presentation.

I then saved the completed animations as .GIFs and embedded them into the background of selected slides in Canva, which allowed for additional motion graphics, transitions, and text to be superimposed on top of the animations.
